The client wanted a wedding that no-one expected them to have and it was to be different than anything they had been to before. The challenge was accepted and we were so excited.
We decided on a white theme and infused a bit of Nikki Beach and St Tropez with The White Company adding a touch of country glamour! The result was a stunning six room bespoke marquee with a lavender lined smoking terrace overlooking the breathtaking Vale of Belvoir.
Clean lines, simple furniture, lashings of voile, statement floral pieces and pops of rose gold and blush created the “interior look” and numerous personal touches were added to create the WOW factor. From the bespoke order of service with its little packet of confetti attached; the photo board at the marquee entrance with the bride and groom’s names, and the logo on the dance floor, everything was designed specially for the gorgeous couple. The show stopping table plan took the form of “take your shot and take a seat” … yes, each guest had to down a shot which revealed their table name on the bottom of the glass once empty, which sure got the party going! At each turn, guests encountered a little unexpected extra.
The Addo favourite of the whole weekend had to be the dining marquee, oh those tables! With hours spent measuring the place settings to the nearest centimetre, and correctly positioning the three long tables beneath the central crystal chandeliers, it certainly was a labour of love! The dining room was well hidden from prying eyes behind voile curtains, but once revealed, it was lined with the most luscious globes of white hydrangeas, roses, stocks and agapanthus which enveloped the room with the most incredible scent. Mini fish bowls of blush peonies adorned the tables and dotted amongst them were hundreds of silver glazed tea lights. Each place setting had a laser cut rose gold placement sitting on the napkin which was folded around the menu and popped on top of a pretty rose beaded charger plate.
From the moment guests entered the marquees, they were made to feel they had arrivied in St Tropez, which was perfect as the bride had spent her hen weekend there. The buzzing holiday atmosphere continued with a constant stream of live music, from the beautiful gospel choir in church to the acoustic duo during the reception and finally the amazing live party band, ensuring it was always busy on the dance floor!
Like Team Addo, our bride has a love of gin, and with plenty of pre-wedding gin fuelled planning meetings, there simply had to be a personalised gin bar. Guests had the choice of choosing their bespoke cocktail, from a Gin Fizz, Edinburgh Special, Tanqueray Mix, to the ever faithful Hendricks complete with rose petals and ribbons of cucumber. It was noticed that some guests had no option but to try one of each!
As always, the memorable end product which was created in a field would not have been possible without our wonderful suppliers.
