Gin and Tonics … by the pool … in April … IN ENGLAND … What a brief!
The challenge was to beat the great British weather and ensure that guests were kept warm. Thinking outside of the box, we persuaded the client to have the party on the pool rather than beside it. Once this was agreed it was full steam ahead with just ten weeks to organise everything. The first step was finding a marquee company specialising in unusual structures. We needed to create a safe platform to accommodate guests for a sit down dinner whilst exposing half of the pool - adjacent to a stage and dance floor. Easy really!
Then to the creative elements of the party. After a conversation with the birthday girl we discovered two of her loves in life are Gin and shopping at the Anthropologie store. We sent out mini Hendricks bottles with a personalised logo for the invitations and later used the same logo for all the personal touches including Gin bottles on the bar and on the tables for the name places.
The Anthropologie look was created with on trend bronze containers of flowers that combined beautiful early summer blooms such as white peonies and stocks with wonderful green succulents and mini evergreen plants. These were placed randomly down the centre of the tables and interspersed with differing heights of candles creating structure. Embossed silver and glass charger plates and contemporary dinner plates together with a lovely Aubergine napkin, copper cutlery and coloured water glasses completed the look.
The birthday girl delighted her 50 guests with a surprise choreographed dance, the children scored the speeches Strictly style with 1 to 10 paddle boards, needless to say not many of the speeches achieved a 10 more frequent was the "7 from Len", guests then danced to the early morning to our wonderful duo DJ Act.
The pool was the real WOW factor with guests undecided whether to dance or swim, say no more!
